Windows XP users:
XP and Java.
Microsoft has recently stopped support for Java from Windows XP. Users with
new Windows XP desktops who visit a Web site that uses Java will find that
the pages won't open fully, and in some cases won't open at all, without
a separate download.
Why ?
Existing versions of Windows contain a chunk of software code, called a Java
Virtual Machine, or JVM, that allows the Internet Explorer browser to execute
Java programs. Some XP operating systems (service pack 1a) do not have the
JVM included.
Solution.
There is an automatic download and install of the Sun JVM here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp
just follow the simple on screen instructions.
